Site slowness

Is it me or has the speed of this site gotten progressively worse over the last few weeks? I'm starting to wonder about the servers this site is hosted on...any ideas Sam?

I know the site is free and no one pays for anything but i would rather chip in a few bucks for something that runs smoother than this. If we are supposed to be the main DSLR site for San Diego, things need to be overhauled. How do we go about forming a committee that can look into this sort of thing?

Although it is free to us - I am fairly certain Sam has put some of his personal $$ into this in recent years. 

I also suspect there is a particular issue with the hosting company since it has not been slow historically.  I maintain 4 domains with 2 different hosting companies and they all periodically have "issues" that they need to resolve internally that has nothing to do with how much money I give them.

Regardless - it has become VERY slow in the last few days and it would be great to get it resolved.

I optimized the Databases, and I will reboot the system. 

Keep in mind, this site gets a lot more hits than a typical site. Never the less, everything will be ok shortly.

So much better now........thanks Sam!        Seems like before I had time to brew coffee and take the dogs out before a thread finally opened.    Much improved.  :-)
