December 2007 Monthly Group Shoot
Submitted by Diane on Sun, 12/02/2007 - 20:44.December Group Shoot - Wild Animal Park
December 8th – 8:30am
www.sandiegozoo.org/wap/
Let’s meet at 8:30am for the group picture prior to a 9:00am entry into the Wild Animal Park east of Escondido. With the cooler weather, the animals will be active and we can enjoy exhibits such as Lion Camp, the Heart of Africa, Lorikeet Landing, the Hidden Jungle, and even a new baby elephant born on November 28th. While the seven new lion cubs won’t be out and about for a few weeks yet, many of their older siblings may be romping. And remember, the big male gorilla may hate having his picture taken, but several of the females are total hams.

Silverwood (lakeside)
Submitted by Andy on Mon, 11/26/2007 - 18:14.Has anyone been out to Silverwood? http://www.sandiegoaudubon.org/silverwood.htm
I don't know how it would be for a group shoot as it is kind of a birding/animal sanctuary nature type place (I'm ok with that)... but I was talking to a co-worker who knows/talks to the keepers and she happened to mention the SD dSLR photo group and the person she spoke with thought it might be a cool thing to have us out there some time. They are trying drum up business (visitors...as it is free/donation area) as vistation has been down since the reopening after the 2003 fires. Julie, my coworker, says many of the different birds have returned and there a lot of interest flowers and rock formations out there. The place is opened Sundays for walking tours but they might just make an exception if we take a group out, have a docent to point out cool things that we might otherwise miss. The photos we take might just get them a little more exposure (pardon the pun) as well.
